MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES ARE AN EVERYDAY PART OF LIFE FOR OUR STRUGGLING AUSSIE FARMERS
For many Rural and Remote Australians, hope is scarce, depression is a part of everyday life and suicide is not uncommon. Since the early 1990’s Care Outreach has expanded beyond the Drought Apeal and Christmas For The Bush campaign’s to the extent that today there are volunteer teams undertaking year round visits, giving hands-on assistance and facilitating Community Events across Queensland and New South Wales.
We are able to support our farmers practically by offering:
- Property Support (e.g. assist with fencing, mustering, livestock)
- Domestic Help (e.g. aid with housework, child care)
- Facilitation of Community Events
- Work Party Teams
- Regular face to face visitation and ministry
- Food hampers, toiletries, linen and toys
How can you help?
Care Outreach is seeking monetary donations, which are tax-deductible. 100% of the funds donated via our Disaster Assistance account goes to our Outback families. With public support, Care Outreach is able to provide some hope in a time of immediate and urgent need for many farmers.
Pre-paid visas and Fuel cards are also great options. Please be mindful that ‘store branded’ cards eg: Coles & Woolies, have very limited use through the Outback. IGA & Foodworks are acceptable.
Non-perishable food items are our greatest need. We welcome large and bulk (pallet) donations from businesses and companies – may be tax deductible.
Preferred items include:
Cereal, Pasta & Pasta Sauce, Rice, Tinned Vegies, Fruit, Baked Beans & Spaghetti, Fish, Soups etc, Baking Ingredients – Flour, Sugars, Dried Fruits, Tea & Coffee, Spreads & Condiments, Biscuits
Toiletry Lines – Shampoo & Conditioner, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Deodorants, Hand Cream, Body wash & Shower Gels and Hand Wash etc.
All donations are processed and distributed from our Head Office at 2/35 Dacmar Rd, Coolum Beach on the Sunshine Coast in Qld.
