Christmas for the Bush is the major annual event of Care Outreach.
Christmas for the Bush is the major annual event of Care Outreach.
Starting in the last week of November, this campaign is a three-week long undertaking, as our volunteers visit our families on our database, face-to-face, delivering Christmas hampers, providing visitation, entertainment and some much-needed festive cheer.
Due to the size of this project, we collect year round for CFTB.
To assist with our packing and assessments of aid on hand, it is requested that donations be received by October 31st. Packing of all aid requirements, hampers etc occurs in the 2nd week of Nov.
DONATE
GIFT CARDS
This year we are again focusing on the donation of pre-paid Visa Cards or Fuel Cards to enable us to distribute these directly to the families for use in their immediate area thus ensuring support of the local businesses in their communities. Financial donations to our Disaster Account or by Credit Card will enable us to bulk buy these cards.

VOLUNTEER
FIELD VOLUNTEERS
Trained volunteers are required for our visitation and pastoral care project. If you have a heart for Outback families, are good at listening and care about the physical, emotional and Spiritual wellbeing of people this might just be for you.
Training: The next field volunteer training is October 3rd – contact the office for details and registration.
Warehouse Volunteers
We have need of volunteer assistance year round in our warehouse on the Sunshine Coast. We always need assistance with:
- Clothing & Linen – (mostly pre-loved) includes sorting, processing and boxing. MUST have a very particular eye for detail and quality
- Ironing lady/man
- Pre-loved books & toys – help is needed to sort, check over, clean, box up etc. Part of the job is ‘quality testing’ the toys (yes that means play with them for the kids at heart
- Homeware & bric a brac.
- Seasonal assistance may be required as we prepare for Christmas for the Bush.
- Care Outreach – CARE SHOPPE op shop. There are a lot of tasks required to keep this area going
Thank you for supporting our Aussie Farmers! Every bit counts and we couldn’t do it without our army of faithful volunteers and the generosity of our community.
